There are few better feelings than playing the perfect hand and coming away from the blackjack table with a big win. Of course, this relies on strategy, skill, and a bit of luck. Fortunately, Go Spin is here to help with our conseils de blackjack to follow to beat the dealer. While there is no sure-fire way to guarantee a win every time, there are definitely rules you can follow to improve your game. With that said, let’s get started.

Visual guide to blackjack tips, Blackjack table with highlighted betting tips and card combinations.

#1 Learn How to Play Blackjack

The first piece of advice we have is arguably the most straightforward – learn comment jouer au blackjack. Until you master the basics, there is little hope of beating the dealer. It helps to learn blackjack variants, too. Each has its own rules regarding house edges when splitting and doubling down occurs, and understanding these is critical to trying to overturn the dealer’s edge.

#2 Understand Basic Strategy

With a thorough understanding of the game, the next rule on our list covers Basic Strategy. Basic Strategy is essentially a chart or guide that reveals the best move to make considering the cards on the blackjack table. While a conventional Basic Strategy guide is appropriate for most games, you should make use of specific strategy guides and charts if you prefer playing specific variants, such as Double Exposure or Switch.

Unlike in land-based casinos, you don’t need to learn Basic Strategy by heart. You won’t need to study the chart and commit it to memory. While you can keep it by your side and consult the guide whenever it’s your turn to move. You may be under pressure to make moves within a selected time frame in live casino titles. We recommend you choose RNG blackjack games, as you can take as long as you like there.

Basic Blackjack Strategies

It is worthwhile sticking to beginner blackjack strategies and rules, too. Most are compatible with Basic Strategy. If you aren’t sure what these are, we’ll tell you:

  • Stand on 12s through 16s if the dealer shows a hand of two through six. If the dealer shows 7s to aces (11), then hit on 12s to 16s.
  • Get used to doubling down on 10s or 11s if your game permits it. You can’t bust, and your odds of landing blackjack are decent enough to make this option worthwhile.
  • If you have aces through sixes, it may be worth doubling down. Again, you can’t bust, and the odds are good that you’ll end up with a decent hand. However, this may depend on what the dealer has, and the probability of success here may also vary based on the blackjack game you choose.

While the three rules above should always be adhered to where possible, there are other tips you can find elsewhere online. Many of these may be handy based on the game you’re playing and your level of blackjack. However, it is important to note that they aren’t as crucial to beating the dealer as the three tips above, coupled with things we’re going to recommend you stick to in the next section.

#3 Basic Blackjack Musts

Next, we want to talk about some blackjack musts. These are blackjack tips you will ignore at your peril. Any beginner hoping to land one on the dealer should always consider the following advice:

  • Always Double Your Bet on 11s: If you land a hand worth eleven, double down. You absolutely can’t bust, and your chances of landing twenty-one are high. You’d be a fool to do anything else, assuming your game allows doubling on 11s.
  • Always Split Aces and 8s: You may as well split Aces and 8s. A hand of sixteen (a pair of eights) is useless, so splitting them is advised, as you’ll improve your odds of at least one hand being decent. You should also split a pair of aces, thus doubling your chance of landing blackjack. Again, you can’t bust by choosing either option here.
  • Be Cautious with Insurance: Any seasoned blackjack pro will tell you to avoid insurance. We concur. Only take insurance if you can be sure that there are plenty of tens in the deck, and the dealer has an ace peeking. In almost all other cases, ignore insurance bets.
  • Avoid Side-Bets: Don’t play side-bets. Yes, the prizes you can win are often high, but the odds of success just aren’t with you. We strongly discourage players from choosing side bets.
  • Don’t Split Tens or Faces: If you have a pair of faces or tens, don’t split them. You’ve got a handy of twenty, the second highest in the game. You can’t bust by taking another card, and it simply isn’t worth risking what is likely to be a winning hand.

#5 Playing Streaks

Finally, let’s talk about streaks. It’s a controversial topic, we know. Some will say that there is no such thing, but blackjack pros know better. We have a few blackjack tips for you concerning streaks. First, though, you need a bit of background.

Blackjack is a game of streaks, oddly enough. The house can be expected to win 55% of games (on average), but you can easily go on winning streaks, bagging wins hand after hand. This is when you want to raise the stakes. Here’s what we mean:

When to Raise Your Bet

Knowing when to raise your bet is an integral part of any card player’s arsenal of skills. In our experience, the best time to start raising your bet is when you’re on a winning streak of three or more. Most blackjack pros advise you to raise your bet just a little, though. You certainly don’t want to go overboard here. For instance, if you have previously wagered $5 a hand, consider bumping your bet to $7.50, then $10 – no higher. We wouldn’t go higher than double our initial stake, and neither should you. Doubling your stake will allow you to get a decent return if your winning streak continues.

When to Lower Your Bet

Skilled blackjack players don’t just know when to raise their bet – they also know when to lower it. Go Spin’s experts believe that the best time to lower your bet is immediately, and there’s no point in delaying it. If you’re on a winning streak and you’re raising bets, as soon as you lose a hand, lower your bet by the amount you previously raised. This will ensure that if you go on a lengthy losing streak, you’ll rapidly end up back on your base wager, saving from bankruptcy. That’s something we’ll cover more next.

Avoid Other Betting Systems

It is okay to raise your bets when on winning streaks and lower them when losing. What you want to avoid are positive progression betting systems like the Martingale. These work the other way around. They ask you to raise your bet when you lose and drop it when you win. The main reason for this is that you’ll (theoretically) break even with a small profit by the time your losing streak ends and you win.

What the Martingale System and other similar systems fail to take into consideration is that if you’re doubling your bet every time you lose, you’ll likely bankrupt yourself before you make your money back if a losing streak continues. Again, raise and lower your bets by all means, but avoid positive progression betting systems, especially if you play with smaller chip stacks.

Final Thoughts: Practice Makes Perfect

While it isn’t part of our top five rules for beating the dealer in blackjack, we do have one last piece of advice for you – practice makes perfect. You should never learn about blackjack and assume you understand the game, then immediately sit at the tables only to find out you were wrong. Practice everything you’ve learned in a safe environment.

The best way to do this is to head over to demo RNG blackjack table games. Once there, you can place for free and practice all the tips, rules and strategies discussed above in a safe, risk-free environment. Sure, you won’t win any real money, but you won’t lose any, either. Only once you’re supremely confident that you’ve got your pat down and the dealer won’t be able to take advantage of you should you decide to have a crack at real money blackjack games.
